The Inclusive Team Book

Melody has been working diligently since Easter on her new book The Inclusive Team and finally finished the first draft this week.

As newsletter readers, you are the very first to know the title, and to see the model we have developed that is explored in the book.

The model was born out of Melody's frustration with the focus on leaders and individuals in the DEI world. Organisations are typically structured in teams, and she wanted to create an approach that shared built team responsibility for creating an inclusive environment.

The model also reflects our belief that DEI should be built into the organisational day to day. Therefore, the model also captures what it means to be a high performing team as we believe inclusion is a core element of team high performance.

The book is designed to be practical so that anybody could pick it up and use it with their team or organisation - it contains 10 exercises that you can use to build the 5 clusters in the model, and there will be a supporting download with handouts and exercise instructions.

We are also designing a course that will give practitioners access to additional materials and an online team diagnostic, but more on that another time!

The publication date is in January 2024, and we will be sharing updates and excerpts in advance of publication via this newsletter.
